Shannon Bencsik is a fourth-year student from Chicago, Illinois. In addition to her major in Interior Architecture and Design, she is an active member of ASID. Shannon is excited to further her knowledge and exploration in design with an internship for the upcoming winter/spring of 2022-23. She recently studied furniture design abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark this past summer. During her study abroad course, she worked in a woodshop studio where she designed and built her first chair using Danish maple. Ms. Bencsik’s love of the outdoors, nature, and landscapes around her has lent itself to giving her a different outlook when designing original spaces. Over the years, Shannon has discovered a fondness for furniture design. Ultimately, she would like to expand on that and encompass historic restoration and hospitality into her career.
